Wearing The Right Dance Clothing
Dance clothing
Before you begin strutting your stuff, make sure that you are wearing the right dance clothing. To determine whether you are wearing the right dance clothing or not, check first on what type of dance you are going to perform. That way, it will be easier for you to narrow down your choices.
So many choices, so little time
Dance clothing can be dependent on your performance and the kind of stage presence that you want to create. However, even if you are specific with the type of dance you are going to perform in order to find the right clothes for it, it can still be hard to make your choice. While comfort should always be your guiding force in choosing the appropriate clothing for your dance, the variety of designs and styles are the ones that can make the task difficult.
Dance clothing may differ not just on the dance but the type of performance you are going to do. Are you just practicing or are you going to perform already? If you are still in your stages of practicing your dance, make sure you are wearing comfortable clothing so you can study and do the right moves freely without any restrictions. Once you have mastered the steps and the moves, you can start wearing your costume for a “dress rehearsal”.
Practice with your clothes on
It is important for you to feel comfortable if you are already wearing your costume so make sure you fit them and practice dancing while wearing them. This ensures that your clothes are not going to get in the way of your dancing. You would not want to experience tripping on your own dress just because it got caught on your heels or your partner accidentally stepped on it.
The shoes
As important as the clothes, the shoes should also be prioritized. In dancing, the feet are the ones that are battered the most because they guide your movement. When shopping for the right dancing shoes, make sure that it is meant for the dance that you are going to perform. For example, don’t buy ballet shoes if you are dancing the tango.
Comfort is the key
Make sure that you are comfortable with the shoes that you are wearing and that they are not fussy to put on. Furthermore, make sure that they fit perfectly so they won’t fly off from your feet when you do your kicks. Just like your clothes, you should be able to move freely and easily with your shoes.
More freedom to move
Remember that dancing requires all parts of your body to be able to move freely and easily so you can do all the required movements on your dance. Whether you are dancing the ballet, the salsa, swing, tango, polka, the waltz, or even cultural dances, make sure that the clothes you are wearing are also able to emphasize your movements.
The style of your clothes matter
Dance clothing should be bold and elegant so they can emphasize your dance steps and your movements so make sure that you are wearing clothes, shoes, and accessories that can provide more action, life, and attention to your moves. Otherwise, you won’t be able to create an impact on your audience.
